Travel Le Cinque Terre (sometimes incorrectly called Cinque Terra) travel by water taxi, a wonderful way to enjoy the beautiful Ligurian coastline.

When you travel to Cinque Terre, be sure to visit Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. Portofino is about 40 km to the Northwest, Genoa 80 KM to the northwest, La Spezia is the closest main point. The Liguria coast, the Italian Riviera, from travel to Monterrosso Levanto in the North to Portovenere at the Southern point and entrance to the Gulf of Poets (Golfo dei Poeti) treat yourself to a relaxing and gorgeous time in the CInque Terre national park, where the pine trees drop right into the sea.

Click here to view telly Italy TV Italian Broadcasting Company, Web Vision Italy, brings you on a boat tour of Cinque Terre.

The boat ride is about 20 euros and you may hop off at any or all of the five (Cinque) little towns (terre) during your day journey. Do leave some time to get all the way down to Portovenere to see what is a spectacular entrance between rock cliffs, ancient forts, and even Lord Byron's cove, into the port of Portovenere, with views into La Spezia.

The colors in the water, from midnight blue to torquoise, the colors on the mountains, and the pine tress sprouting out of the rocky cliffs all the way into the ocean is a magical scene only to be experienced when traveling in Italy to Le Cinque Terre.

Enjoy the land of pine nuts, basil and pesto.

Montalcino: A travel back in time

In this hilltop village there lies history and culture that can be dated back to 9 A.D. This village is situated in the province of Siena a little west of Pienza. This picturesque village creates an ambiance of a simpler time. The meandering network of roads and alleys add to the rustic atmosphere. The medieval castle adds to the aesthetic beauty of the city. From atop the castle a view of the city and countryside is nothing less than breathtaking. The wine coming out of this quaint village is another amazing aspect. This Tuscan wine is nothing short of superb. The nutrients and environment of the Tuscan landscape creates a wine that pleases the mind, body and soul.

Pietrasanta Tuscany: Artist's Sanctuary

Pietrasanta Tuscany, the city of marble, is located in northern Tuscany on the coastal plains, at the base of the Tuscany mountains. In the province of Lucca, it is the home of the great sculptors who love to work with the nearby Carrara stone, famous for the white or blue-gray marble quarried there.

We traveled south by train from the Cinque Terre in Liguria, Italy to coastal Tuscany to visit the city where, during the last 600 years, all the masters of sculpture have called Pietrasanta home at one time during their life, including Michelangelo, Henry Moore and Botero.

See more about Pietrasanta to plan your next holiday to Italy.
